About RetentionOfferCheck

RetentionOfferCheck is a free tool for comparing credit-card retention offer amounts. I’m Ryan, and I built it because answers to “is this retention offer good?” are scattered across community discussions. This is a small, independent project, free to use and contribute to.

How it works

  1. Check. Enter the offer you received: the card, the amount, and any spend requirement.
  2. Benchmark. See how your offer compares with the median of recent reports for the same card and offer type once there are at least three. A sample percentile is available with five or more. Spending requirements and deadlines can differ.
  3. Browse. Look through recent approved datapoints by issuer, card, and offer type.
  4. Submit. Share your own offer anonymously so future comparisons stay current. No name, card number, or account information is required.

Points and statement-credit amounts can be compared. Other rewards, such as fee waivers or mixed offers, are not ranked. Dollar estimates for points use an editable assumption; they are not guaranteed value.

About the data

Every datapoint on this site comes from community reports or from reviewed public listings, never from the card issuers themselves. Reports are reviewed before they appear in benchmarks. Even so, the data is a small sample of self-reported offers, not a representative survey, and it is not issuer-verified.

This site is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any card issuer, and nothing here is financial advice. See the Terms for details.
